Meet the Founder: Megan Martinez

My life-long journey is to use fitness as a form of therapeutic relief, not only for myself, but for my clients. I hope to inspire others to achieve personal growth & empowerment by gaining a deeper relationship with the mind-body connection through exercise. 

As a kid and young adult, I sustained multiple knee injuries playing competitive soccer. The experience inspired me to find other modalities of exercise that promote a more holistic approach to healing. After my fourth knee surgery, I discovered Pilates as a form of physical therapy. I fell in love with the practice through rehab! In 2014, I completed instructor training & obtained certification in The Pilates Method.  

I have an MA in Psychology from Seattle University, which helps me better understand & establish therapeutic relationships. I’ve also taught barre in order to build my fitness repertoire & respond to the diverse needs of my clients.

When I’m not on the mat, I enjoy long distance running, watching thriller movies, and spending time with my husband and two boys! I am incredibly excited to use my love of fitness and life as a foundation for the Build w/ Megan community!
